Which Suavecito is stronger? ›

We started first with our medium strength Original Hold Pomade for most hair types and styles. It works really well with straight hair and pretty much anything you need it do. For the more unruly curly or thick hair, use the powerfully strong Firme Hold Pomade.

Best For: All hair types and textures. Side parts, slick backs, and pompadours. Best For: Adding volume and grip to fine hair.

The Suavecita Semi-Permanent Hair Color line is a direct dye system that does not require a developer. These fantastic, long-lasting vibrant shades were formulated without PPD, peroxide, ammonia or alcohol.

Wax, although slightly similar to pomade in texture, typically offers much more hold. Unlike pomade, which stays pliable throughout the day, wax usually dries out after a few hours, which allows for a stronger hold and much more creativity when styling your hair.

Gels and pomades work better on hair that's thick, curly, dry, or coarse. Hair styling waxes and clays work on all hair types, but they're especially great for hair that's fine, thin, or greasy. Thanks to their clay content, matte hair clays help to absorb excess oil from the scalp.

In the 1870's the pomade and the first hair oil styling products emerged in Europe. The early commercial pomades featured bear fat as the main holding ingredient. Around the same time, a London barber called Alexander Rowland launched the precursor to a brilliantine style oil, known as Macassar Oil.

What is the difference between Suavecito Pomade Firme Hold and Suavecito Pomade Strong Hold? Our Strong Hold pomade and Firme Hold pomade are actually the same product. If you look closely at the label on the can you will notice that one side says "FIRME HOLD" and the other side says "STRONG HOLD".
