One of the things that made our vein care company, The Center for Venous Disease so great at providing quality care, was strongly suggesting ABVLM Diplomate status for all of our Physicians. When I first mentioned this, there was "push back" as all of our providers at the time were surgeons (vascular, general, cardiac, etc.) who thought they knew more about Phlebology than they actually did. Total Vein Care was our focus. Regardless of your training, I would recommend this program. As a former Foundation Board Member, I had very good insight into the program, its leadership, and the outcomes. #venous #RFalbation #endovenouslaser #woundcare #lymphaticsystem #compressiontherapy #AmselMedical

Now this is a good article on Defence and some great points from Anywise, who are one of the "Aussie" SME / consultancies punching above their weight. With the potential opportunities such as AUKUS arising, a very timely discussion too. Let me just add my thoughts. The phrase a "bad contract guarantees a bad outcome" is often heard (usually when the project is dead, dying or on the projects of concern list) but I venture to say a good contract that fails, and a bad contract share the same root causes: ⛔ the bid / go no go phase was not conducted properly or was too short;⛔ the bid manager did not listen to, or ignored the advice from the Contract Manager / Lawyer. (This is usually a systematic issue what does a CM / Lawyer know...?)⛔ Following on from the point above, if by some miracle the CM / Lawyer was listened to (especially if they suggested "abort the bid") the advice was ignored. "What do you know, we have spent too much.. I'm an experienced PD [Insert standard phrase here]".The good news is this situation can (usually) be avoided or mitigated. Based on my experience in both CM and legal roles what seems like a "bad" contract may not always be so, and a "good" contract may not be...In order to avoid the above situations:✅ Make the CM / Lawyer a valued and senior member of the team. We don't put hours of work into analysis and mitigation strategies to be ignored or dismissed;✅ Don't give lip service to any suggestions. Listen and implement them. You may not like them, but it could save you a lot of heartache, money or embarrassment later;✅If you don't have the resources / expertise on board reach out and find one. There are organizations / individuals (such as myself and Anywise to name two only) who can assist with the bid itself (or finding suitable bids), pre-qualification, or analysing, amending and drafting the contracts and subcontracts.I'm always happy to have a chat about any contractual or legal issue, and if I cannot help I may know someone who can.#contractmanagement #aukus #defencecapability #contracts #lewg #defenceindustry

With climate change never higher on the political agenda, and no solutions to climate change possible without the ocean, it's crucial we debate ocean-issues in a joined-up way. All of those who work, study and derive food from the ocean have a stake in its future. And we all need a healthy ocean - it produces half the oxygen webreathe, absorbs93% of excess heat generated bygreenhouse warming and takes up over 25% of human-produced carbon dioxide. For those attending the Labour Party Conference, please come along to our panel event to hear how important the ocean is to us all, and to ask questions from our fantastic panel of experts.#climatechange #ocean #marine #maritime
