As the Grand Theft Auto role-playing scene has seen a dramatic increase in viewership across Twitch thanks to streamers like XQC,Sykkuno and others, the desire to participate has also grown.
Unfortunately, the main whitelisted server is unable to join (unless you're big on Twitch or are willing to make a donation and wait). Thankfully, though, NoPixel has created a secondary public server for others to join. Most notably, XQC has joined the public server after his perma ban on the whitelisted server.
But XQC isn't the only one to join. Many other streamers from the whitelisted server have hopped in the public server from time to time, giving it a lot more credibility. Sotheoretically you could join the public NoPixel server and get to play with some of your favorite streamers. Although you shouldn't attempt to stream snipe them because that will get you a quickban on the server.

How to join NoPixel's public GTA RP server
- Download GTA 5 for desktop
- Download the FiveM mod
- Create an account for NoPixel
- Connect to the public server
- Wait in the longqueue
- Play in the server
The process to join NoPixel's public server for GTA RP is simple, especially if you already own the game for desktop. This server is not available to play on console since you need to add the FiveM mod in order to play.
The downside to attempting to play on the server is having to wait in long queue times. As Reddit userR4nd0mnumbrz pointed out, there are alotof people attempting to join at once. And others have pointed out that the number has even topped 2000 at times.
Although these numbers were around the launch of the public server, and the wait times have settled down since then. But it's still a long wait for those without priority.

If you aren't a fan of waiting in long queues then you can pay your way to the topof the priority list.
As Reddit userjjhassert shared, there are different tiers (viewed above) for users who want to pay to skip the long wait times. Although as the NoPixel store indicates, these are subscription-based so these aren't a one-time fee, they're a monthly fee.
NoPixel GTA RP public server Dev Coins
The public server features something called Dev Coins, an exchange of real-life currency for in-game currency. The store warns that the "value of a dev coin can fluctuate." But based on jjhassert's Reddit post, $100 real-life currency gets you 90 Dev Coins. And 1 Dev Coin equates to $1,000 in-game currency. So $100 real-life currency would get you $90,000 in-game currency based on that market.
What is the NoPixel GTA RP public server?
The NoPixel public server was created as an alternative server after their main whitelisted server became increasingly popular. The NoPixel server has been around for a few years, although the whitelisted server you see most streamers play in is considered NoPixel 3.0 as its the third iteration of the server.
The public server allows anyone to join, which has its advantages and disadvantages. The obvious advantage is that it allows new people to play who were unable to join the whitelisted server. There are many people who may just enjoy the roleplaying element and don't have a Twitch audience to broadcast to.
The disadvantage is fairly obvious. Since anyone can join, it leads to people who come on just to stream snipe, or do something stupid. Thankfully it's easy to report these users in-game and get them banned.
Who plays on the NoPixel GTA RP public server?
XQC is probably the biggest name who plays on the server. He easily draws in over 100,000 viewers on most of his streams, and he's sort of made the public server his own since he's unable to play on the whitelisted server. But many streamers who play on the whitelisted server have joined the public server at some point or another.
We've seenSykkuno join to make his character Yuno into a cop. Buddha turned Mr. Lang into a cop on the public server as well. Ramee,RatedEpicz,Blautoise, Burn and many others have also played the public server at times.
